‘I met a girl during competition’: Yuvraj Singh spills the beans on collaboration rumors

former indian allrounder Yuvraj Singh A candid response to the long-standing link rumors that often surrounded him during his playing days, providing rare insight into how innocuous moments can sometimes turn into controversy. Speaking on tennis star Sania Mirza’s YouTube talk show ‘Serving it Up with Sania’, Yuvraj reflected on the pressures of fame and the role the media plays in shaping narratives around athletes’ personal lives.

During the conversation, Yuvraj recalled one specific incident that highlighted how easily rumors can spiral out of control. The former cricketer revealed he casually hugged his manager – which he described as a completely normal gesture – but the moment was sensationalized by the media.

“I had an agent who I had just started working with. I gave her a hug. When you meet someone, you give them a hug and they turned the tables and I met a girl during the game,” Yuvraj said.

Yuvraj said the incident became an example of how everyday interactions can often be misinterpreted once footage and speculation emerge.

Yuvraj admits that romantic relationships with different people are almost inevitable for high-profile athletes and celebrities. However, he was critical of how such rumors were deliberately amplified to attract attention and readership.

“It’s part of our lives. If the media doesn’t publish controversial or negative comments, they feel people won’t read them.” he explained. “I feel like there are a lot more negative things than positive things. I feel like there should be more positive stories.”

Euvey’s comments reveal the mental toll that constant scrutiny takes, especially as social media begins to amplify speculation about athletes’ lives off the field.

This is not the first time that Yuvraj has leaked details about his personal life

This isn’t the first time Yuvraj has spoken out about his dating life. Recently, he shared a light-hearted anecdote from India’s tour of Australia in 2007-08, when he briefly dated an actress. The episode ends on a humorous note, with Yuvraj revealing that one time she accidentally packed his shoes and he had to wear her pink loafers on the team bus.

The story is told in a tongue-in-cheek manner, contrasting with the serious tone with which he sometimes portrayed rumors throughout his career, reinforcing his point about perspective and exaggeration.
