AEW is home to some of the top names in professional wrestling. One of those stars recently explained why they chose to join the promotion in Jacksonville.

That star is Kyle Fletcher, an Australian talent who joined Tony Khan’s promotion in 2023 and became one of the company’s top singles performers this year. Additionally, the former TNT Champion is a member of the Don Callis Family, arguably the most influential faction in the Jacksonville promotion. Interestingly, in the same interview, Fletcher also explained why he joined Elite Wrestling, saying:

“I think it’s the atmosphere there. I don’t want to say freedom, but I think there’s a lot of trust there that I can make the wrestling that I want to make, and I can wrestle the way that I like. Going through that beforehand and knowing that, I think that’s definitely what attracted me to AEW.” (Time: Drainage worker on X)

Kyle Fletcher says WWE was interested in him before he joined AEW

In another example from Chris Van Vliet Insight, Kyle Fletcher Revealed that he had a call with WWE before joining All Elite Wrestling. However, he decided not to join the Stamford promotion because he felt inappropriate then.

“We had kind of an official (call). It was myself and Mark Davis as the Australian Open and we had a Zoom call with them. We talked about what the deal was going to involve and things like that. I think when things got to that point, it didn’t feel quite right at the time. So we didn’t get very close. It was kind of like when there were options there,” Fletcher said (H/T) chrisvanvliet.com).

Protostar is currently focused on winning the AEW Intercontinental Classic, recording two wins and one loss.
