How Etermax takes Trivia Crack World to Meta Quest VR headsets

Etermax Has been making games since 2009 and scored a huge hit on Trivia Crack in 2013. The game has more than 800 million downloads until now, but Etermax has found new markets for it.

On November 28, Etermax Cebu launched Trivia Crack World of Meta Quest as a new virtual reality game that takes players to an immersive and interactive amusement park, mixing knowledge, fun, and global connectivity with VR headsets, desktops, and mobile devices. Now the company is also expanding the world with new updates for the game, which has a 4.9 star rating out of 5.

Trivia Crack World is Meta Quest’s first immersive trivia game, offering a dynamic and engaging experience for casual players, trivia enthusiasts, and families alike. Set in a vibrant, knowledge-themed amusement park, players can interact with beloved Trivia Crack characters in real time. Each character like Willy the Wheel has his own island with a themed subject. Willy the Wheel also serves as the park’s grand host, opening its doors to Hector’s Museum, Albert’s lab and Tito’s Safari.

The goal for Trivia Crack World is to present a refreshing alternative to typical VR titles, said Federico Segovia, head of product at Etermax in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in an interview with GamesBeat.

“We didn’t just translate the mobile version. The advantage of VR is that you can create an immersive world where people can meet in real time. You can customize the experience, choose your language, and choose the difficulty of the questions,” said Segovia.

The development of Trivia Crack World was done by Etermax, 100% in-house, from the game itself to the soundtrack, Segovia said. While Etermax has more than 300 people, the VR game includes a team of more than 20 people, including designers, programmers, etc.

The expanded Etermax staff team also supported the project throughout the development of the launch plan, which included an integrated promotional and business strategy. In addition, the support from the Meta team in their promotional channels plays an important role.

Trivia Crack World aims to bring the fun of a trivia night with friends and family to your living room. Players ages 13 and up can compete in a variety of trivia challenges and explore trending topics in multiple languages while interacting with a global, online community.

Adapting to VR

Trivia Crack is now a multiplatform experience.

Segovia, who has been at Etermax since 2016 as a game designer and is now head of product, has been working on the project for the past year. The company has assembled a team familiar with family gaming, casual mobile play games, VR technology and a wide variety of audiences.

“It’s exciting for me because I’m a Vr player in Meta Quest,” Segovia said. “We want to take trivia to the next level. This is an adaptation of the mobile version of trivia crack, but everything has been redesigned. The interaction is in real time and therefore the social aspect of the game is powerful .

While VR is often a solitary form of entertainment, trivia is inherently more social. So it makes sense to create a multiplayer version of the trivia game in addition to a solo version of the game.

“The driver of the main game is the open match, where people who don’t know each other can gather and play,” said Segovia.

The VR version also includes user-generated questions, like the mobile version, where players can create more local content related to their own city or country.

“Throughout the game’s development, we’ve been working closely with the core community to get feedback, like building an attraction for the outdoor club,” Segovia said. “We want to make the game different from the competition in the store.

“We always like challenges,” Segovia said. “We are pioneers in our trivia game and we have made it the best in mobile stores. Now in VR, the market started to become interesting about three years ago,” said Segovia. “We decided that VR will be very important for consumers in the future. So we took this first step to keep it going. “

While many people think that VR hardware is only attractive to hardcore gamers, there are many casual games at the top of VR stores. Content includes casual, midcore and hardcore games. While the market is still in its infancy, VR games have become successful enough to support several mid-size game studios such as Schell Games and Resolution Games.

Trivia Remixed: Take on challenges, solve puzzles, and more

Etermax’s 20-plus person team makes the VR experience more immersive.

Trivia Crack World combines the iconic Trivia Crack brand, known in 180 countries and 34 languages, with Meta Quest’s VR technology.

Players go on a trivia adventure and not only answer questions but also solve puzzles, interact with virtual objects, and face challenges that mix mental and physical skills. Minigames include fishing for answers, drawing accurately, hitting targets, and navigating mazes—adding unique twists to the old trivia format.

Trivia Crack World connects players around the world and offers a multilingual experience powered by Trivia Crack’s Question Factory, which boasts over 50 million user-generated trivia questions. Local content ensures that players encounter new, relevant questions based on their geographic location.

Trivia Crack World allows players to share trivia with others with two multiplayer modes. Players can compete with trivia fans around the world, answer questions to climb the leaderboards, earn trophies, and access exclusive rewards in a competitive environment.

Players can also play solo, where you test your knowledge and train your trivia skills in your own time. And you can engage in private matches, where users can create custom games, share codes, and enjoy a friendly trivia showdown regardless of distance.

Trivia Crack World is available at Meta Quest in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, and German, it can also be played Android, iOSand Windows tools.

The expansion of the amusement park with new updates

The beloved Trivia Crack franchise has now added new themed attractions and a new space where players can spark their curiosity and enjoy exciting challenges handled by the game’s characters.

Coming just in time for Christmas, players will be able to explore two new immersive attractions: Tito’s Safari and Albert’s Lab, and an enhanced Hector’s Museum experience. Each adventure challenges players with interactive quests hosted by the game’s iconic characters.

Albert’s lab: Players have the chance to visit Albert’s scientific bastion and face his robot in an epic game of charades. The challenge? Solve the mystery with the fewest questions to be crowned the winner.

Tito’s Safari: Invites players to hunt in a series of islands in search of rare animals. Users must find and learn about each species with those who successfully take pictures of all the creatures on the safari receiving a set of tickets to spend in the store.

Hector’s Island: The Hector Museum is the first attraction to receive a dedicated space on the island. This new zone is filled with historical objects for players to interact with and explore, as well as a place to meet other players before entering the museum’s main exploration maze. This is just the beginning—soon, all attractions will feature their own dedicated zones on the island.

Players of all ages can explore knowledge-based adventures like scavenger hunts, epic charades, and historical challenges in a fully immersive virtual amusement park. The game is available on the Meta Horizon Store for $10.
