The leader of a California Catholic school that was desecrated after a break-in urged the community to make “many reparations for this offense against God and Our Lady.”
Images found Monday morning showing the destruction of Holy Innocents Catholic School in Long Beach smashed statueimages of Mary and other religious figures were destroyed, and photos of the Pope were knocked to the ground.
In a letter obtained by Fox News Digital on Tuesday and sent to parents at the school, Fr. G. Peter Irving, the school’s president and pastor, and Cyril Cruz, the school’s principal, wrote: “We ask everyone to make many amends for offenses against God and Our Lady.”

Cruz Tell EWTN News “Our statue of the Virgin Mary was smashed and the Corpus Christi was removed and thrown to the floor in an apparent attempt to force it open. The atrium that the Carmelite nuns had carefully prepared for our scholars was completely destroyed.”
Irving and Cruz announced in letter Security will be enhanced after the attack.
“Out of an abundance of caution, we are requesting increased security patrols, especially after school and on weekends,” they wrote. “The hall is the only building affected. Classes will continue as planned. We hope to resume Mass in the hall as soon as possible.”

School leaders also asked parents to pray for the perpetrators.
“Please join us in praying for those who committed this act so that they may emerge from darkness and embrace the loving grace of our Lord,” they wrote. “We specifically ask for our intercession Bless mother For our schools, our families and our communities. “
