Himachal, Kerala, Goa top list of India’s welcoming regions as Bir remains No.1 city by 2026: Report


Himachal Pradesh has made it to a global list of the 10 friendliest regions on Earth, while continuing to hold the top spot in India for the third consecutive year, according to a new Booking.com hospitality ranking report.

The findings come from the 14th Annual Traveler Review Awards 2026, which is based on more than 370 million verified traveler reviews worldwide. This year, a record 1.81 million members have been recognized globally, up 5% from the previous year, covering 1,817,848 accommodation providers, 1,977 car rental companies and 137 airport transfer providers.

In India, Himachal Pradesh was named the most welcoming region for 2026, followed by Kerala and Goa. In the city ranking, Bir (Himachal Pradesh) retained the title of India’s most welcoming city for the second consecutive year, followed by Mararikulam (Kerala) and Jaisalmer (Rajasthan).

The report notes that the global list is “determined by the proportion of accommodation partners receiving a Traveler Review Award in 2026”, and highlights destinations across continents.
