A brave group of Good Samaritans are known as heroes after stepping in to save a woman and two children Outside Jacksonville, Florida Motor Vehicle Office.
The incident occurred on March 12 in the DMV parking lot on North Main Street.
Witnesses saw a man trying to drive into an SUV while a woman desperately tried to evacuate two children, who were only 2 and 6 months old, from the back seat, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO).
Investigators said the man, who was later identified as 26-year-old Yanni Human, “defeated the woman’s will and dragged her and a child to the parking lot.”

“In dangerous situations, there are more than a dozen Good Samaritans in Jacksonville intervening, potentially saving the mother and two children from serious injuries or worse,” JSO wrote in a Facebook post describing the incident.

The bystanders rushed in without hesitation, trying to bring women and children to safety as the vehicle continued to move. The man fled the scene, but before witnesses provided a detailed description and SUV license plate number, the man fled the scene.
JSO’s District 6 task force officials took the information together with surveillance videos to find and arrest people later that day at a nearby shopping mall.
He’s facing now Multiple felony chargesincluding child abuse and false incarceration, as well as a fort, allegations of marijuana possession and resistance to violence-free officers.

Authorities attribute the rapid thinking and heroism of the bystanders to preventing potential tragedies.
The post added: “This situation could end in tragedy. Your JSO thanks the Good Samaritans for their quick action and heroism.”
The Sheriff’s Office has not released the names of the people who intervened, but their actions have attracted praise from the community.
