Prior to this, Tyson and Holyfield were largely considered to be in conflict, especially after “The Real Deal” deposed James “Buster” Douglas in 1990.

Foreman, who came out of a decade-long retirement in 1987, had been calling for Holyfield and Tyson for the past few years, with their 1991 collision finally becoming a reality.

Holyfield ultimately won by unanimous decision but lost to Riddick Bowe a year and a half later, while Tyson never feuded with “Big George.”

Holyfield then completed his signature trilogy with Bowe, stunningly defeating Tyson in the 11th round of their first meeting in 1996.
