Harbhajan Singh slams former Pakistan pacer: The rivalry between India and Pakistan has been going on for years. The competition off the field has become even fiercer with the intervention of social media. Weeks after Pakistan boycotted the 2026 T20 World Cup against India, they have finally agreed to play in the match, which will be played on February 15 at the R Premdasa Stadium in Colombo.
Before the match, ex-cricketers from India and Pakistan started an off-field rivalry. Harbhajan Singh has slammed former Pakistan cricketer Tanvir Ahmed for his remarks in which he spoke about the India legend’s interview on ILT20 with Pakistan spinner Usman Tariq, who was in the news for his unique moves. Tanveer’s remarks angered the former World Cup winner, forcing Harbhajan to respond befittingly.
Harbhajan Singh slams Tanveer Ahmed
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Harbhajan said, “This video is for a tuccha insaan (little person) who said something about me. Ideally, I don’t even know who he is, but because I see this video time and time again, he is performing his drama on one platform or another.”
Your daily dose of cricket!
“First of all, I want to know who this guy is. Do you know him? His name is Tanveer Ahmed. He has played three or four games for Pakistan and he is acting as if he is Imran Khan, Wasim Akram or Waqar Younis. Shame on you.”

Harbhajan Singh vs Tanvir Ahmed Breakout from ILT20
Harbhajan Singh mentioned the controversy over Tanvir Ahmed’s comments on the former Indian cricketer’s commentary and broadcasting work at ILT20.
Bhajji said, “I am working as an announcer in ILT20. What is the role of an announcer? When someone wins the Man of the Match award, you ask him questions, right? Pakistan spinner Usman Tariq took three wickets and won the match for his team. As an announcer, I should obviously ask him questions.”
Harbhajan Singh further said, “But when I did that, this guy (Tanveer Ahmed) had a problem. If I didn’t ask him questions, he would again think that since he is from Pakistan, I didn’t ask him questions. He said that wherever I see Pakistani cricketers, I hang around them.”
Tanveer Ahmed has just played 8 games for Pakistan in different formats and has been a panellist on some Pakistani TV shows. His comments often caused controversy.
Finally, Harbhajan Singh concluded: “Listen to me. I don’t even know who you are. None of the greats Pakistan has produced have said such things. They are very respected. But people like you, who have never achieved anything, all they can do is sit on cheap channels and talk nonsense. You have no manners in speaking. That’s the difference between a player who has played 5 games and a player who has played 100 games.”
“So Tanveer Ahmed, look at yourself and stop talking nonsense. As far as I’m concerned, don’t talk. Next time this happens, teri dhajjiya uda dunga (I will destroy you. So get lost.”
India will hope to continue their winning streak against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup. As they have a 7-1 record in the competition and have not lost a game in the past five games.
