Haiti’s Transitional Council transfers power to US-backed Prime Minister Fils-Aimé




Haiti’s transitional presidential council handed over power to US-backed Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé on Saturday as the country prepares for its first general election in a decade. The council was established two years ago but has failed to quell the gang violence plaguing the Caribbean nation.
