This On-loan Manchester City winger He was injured against his former club Aston Villa earlier this month.
Toffees boss David Moyes said: “We believe he’ll probably need surgery, but it’s still not completely confirmed, but it probably rules him out for the rest of the season, yes.
“It’s really disappointing for the player and the club and for all of us here.
“He’s an important part, he’s a big character, a big experience for us. We’ll miss him. He’s done a lot of good things for us.”
Grealish has two goals and six assists for Everton this season. Moyes confirmed that Everton are likely to sign a replacement before Monday’s transfer deadline.
“I want to say we’re looking there, which I think I’ve said in every press conference,” he said.
“We’re looking out there. It’s not that we’re shying away from it. I’d say it’s probably less than likely.
“You can find players in January, not to say you can’t, but I think we’re seeing this window become very difficult for a lot of teams.”
