Five Premier League teams will be looking to avoid an upset as the third round of the 2024/25 FA Cup continues with seven games on Sunday.
Fifth-tier side Tamworth are hoping for a major upset at home to Tottenham, while fourth-tier Bromley – promoted last season – visit Newcastle.
Ipswich Town were at home to Bristol Rovers and Stockport County visited Crystal Palace as the two League One teams chased a shock, and rock-bottom Southampton were at home to Championship club Swansea City.
Arsenal were also tied against Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium in an all-Premier League tie. Here’s what happened, including scorers and highlights.

Arsenal v Man United: Penalty decider
Bruno Fernandes’ strike gave United the lead seven minutes after half-time, but the momentum appeared to be in Arsenal’s favor after Diogo Dalot received a second yellow card for the visitors two minutes before Gabriel fired home an equaliser.
United goalkeeper Altay Bayandir then brilliantly saved Martin Odegaard’s spot kick and repeated the trick against Kai Havertz in the shoot-out as Ruben Amorim’s side went 5-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

Tamworth vs Tottenham: Spurs survive a scare
Tottenham named a strong side but had an uncomfortable afternoon at Tamworth’s 4,000-capacity Lamb Ground, going ahead only with Nathan Shikuna’s scrappy 101st-minute own goal.
Dejan Kulusevski and Brennan Johnson also scored in extra time as Ange Postecoglou’s side cruised to a comfortable 3-0 victory.

Newcastle v Bromley: Magpies made to work
Twelfth in League Two, Bromley enjoyed a stunning start in front of over 52,000 fans when Cameron Congreve won a header and scored from the rebound in the eighth minute.
Newcastle equalized eight minutes later through a fine strike from Lewis Miley, and William Osula also scored a stunning finish in the 61st minute for his first goal for the club, winning 3–1 after a penalty from half-time substitute Anthony Gordon.
That’s another beauty for Newcastle!

Ipswich v Bristol Rovers: Hosts Hammer Gas
After going out at home to Maidstone United last season, Ipswich were clearly intent on avoiding another shock as Calvin Phillips’ long-range strike put the Tractor Boys ahead after 18 minutes.
Jack Clarke slotted over to double their advantage six minutes later and Jack Taylor scored the game’s third and final goal eight minutes from half-time, although the absence of video assistant referee reviews until the fifth round may have saved the midfielder from ruling. Offside

Crystal Palace vs Stockport: Is goal wins
England forward Aberechi Eze’s fourth-minute strike proved to be the only goal of the game as Palace made it nine games unbeaten out of the EFL Cup.
Play-off-chasing Stockport are now five games without a win, although Isaac Olaof was unlucky to have his second-half shot kept out by an inspired Matt Turner save.

Southampton v Swansea: Dibble on the double
Kamaldin Sulaimana’s deft first-time lob and Tyler Dibling’s tap-in put Southampton 2-0 up at half-time and their first win in 12 matches.

Dibling took advantage of some indecisive defending to score their second after the break for the bottom side in the Premier League, although Joe Allen hit a low shot against the post from the edge of the box for the Swans.
Hull v Doncaster: Rovers shock Tigers
Harry Clifton scored the winning penalty as fourth-tier Doncaster won 5-4 in a shoot-out after a 1-1 draw at Championship strugglers Hull.
