For months, we trying to explain how good is the new movie, Obsessionis the. We captured it on film festival circuit last year, and while Focus Features picked it up and slowly began to launch its saleswe repeated this. This movie is brutal, wild, and terrifying. There is one very creepy teaser trailer from late last year, and now an even better teaser is here. Finally, everyone can begin to see themselves.

Written and directed by newcomer Curry Barker, Obsession centers on a man named Bear (Michael Johnston) who falls in love with his best friend Nikki (Inde Navarrette). Unfortunately for Bear, however, Nikki doesn’t feel the same way. So when Bear finds a gag gift called “One Wish Willow,” he sees no harm in randomly wishing that Nikki will love him more than anything in the world. What’s the worst that could happen? Wishes don’t come true, do they? right? Here is the latest teaser trailer for the Obsession.

That teaser sets the stakes and begins to hint at where it’s all going, but there’s more. Curry Barker pushes things to the film’s limits in ways that are sure to delight horror fans but also scare a lot of people. Johnston is great in the movie as this hopeless romantic who makes a terrible mistake, but Navarrette is the real breakout. The way he describes this woman, can’t help but love this person, is chill. Also, the show has some messy layers to it. We believe he has a bright future.

So get ready. It is set to be one of the best horror films of the year. Indeed, in our eyes, it is. Co-starring Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless, and Andy Richter, Obsession opens in theaters everywhere on May 15. Here’s also the killer teaser poster:
