George Groves predicts Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Connor Benn 2: ‘I wouldn’t be surprised if he stops him’

Seven years on from George Groves’ match against Chris Eubank Jr., he now predicts how the Brighton native will fare against Connor Benn for a second time.

When the two first met in April, Eubank earned unanimous points with a gritty and dynamic performance. Benn impressed in defeat, however, holding his own against the big men and looking dangerous throughout.

The generational rivals will square off once again when Tottenham Hotspur host the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend. Said Groves, who beat Eubank on points in 2018 Bet on Victor He supports Ben.

“I’m picking Connor Benn to win. I think Connor Benn is going to be fresher and I think he’s going to beat him. Benn is going to have the confidence of, ‘OK, he didn’t hurt me, he didn’t stop me, I can hit his best shot.’

“And he might be a little calmer and not waste so much energy on excitement or adrenaline or even nerves. I could see him getting into the fight quicker, landing a few shots, and his speed and accuracy winning him the fight. Eubank still has a lot of fire, a lot of grit. But he looks tired. I wouldn’t be surprised if Connor Benn stops him late, but it’s probably Benn who wins on points.”

The fight will be fought under the middleweight limit, with a mandatory 10-pound holdout on Saturday morning – a topic that was hotly debated and debated last time and will likely be the same again.
