
Gareth Southgate has admitted he decided to step down as England manager ahead of the Three Lions’ defeat to Spain in the Euro 2024 final.

During an appearance on the BBC Desert Island Disc, Southgate admitted he listened to Adele ‘Someone Like You’ To help him come to terms with his decision to leave England during Euro 2024.
“I kept playing him until the end of the last Euros, because I knew I was going,” Southgate said.
“I had made up my mind that it was a time of change on all sides and there were so many words in it that even if I heard it today it had to do with my relationship with England and their relationship with me, and how I was about all that. really feel
“Like how they have to move on and you wish them well and have regrets, and really make memories. There are a lot of lines in that that really resonated with me.”
