The Cottagers have been one of the most entertaining teams in the Premier League so far this season and have been rewarded for it.

Now Fulham have reportedly turned their attention to the January transfer window as they look to continue their push for a European spot in the Premier League.
Names like Breno Biton and Gabrielle Schrute As already mentioned, the latter is a future one. But before either goal is achieved, the Cottagers are likely to sign a Premier League midfielder.

According to Graeme Bailey of The Boot Room, Fulham now keen to win James McCarty’s game The next month, the midfielder informed City that he wished to leave the club due to competition for game time.
However, the 22-year-old has attracted more than just interest from Fulham. West London rivals Brentford, Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, West Ham United and Celtic are also reportedly keen to sign McCarty in the winter window.
Of course, the last academy graduate to leave Manchester City – Cole Palmer – was undoubtedly a huge success and even cemented himself as one of the Premier League’s best players.
Now Fulham are seeking to benefit from the Citizens Academy by signing McCarty in January.
‘Special’ McCarty needs transfer
If City continue to be at their usual best and unstoppable towards Premier League glory once again, then McCarty’s struggles for game time will be entirely understandable. However, this was not the tenacious Manchester City side that English football had come to expect.
This is a team with one win in 13 games. Yet, amidst so many struggles and so many injuries, McCarty still didn’t get the opportunity he so craved. Therefore, he needs to move on in the January transfer window.
Fulham are also strong candidates to sign him. The Cottagers are free and on the rise, playing a style of football that would allow McCarty to thrive alongside the likes of Emile Smith Rowe and Andreas Pereira.
Whether City will allow their young midfielder to leave, however, is another question entirely. When asked about McCarty’s future over the summer, Guardiola Tell reporters: “I’d love to have him stay with us next season because he’s a special guy that can play in tight quarters, in the pocket, and we don’t have a lot of that.”
