France adopts a deferred budget for 2026, ending a months-long deadlock in parliament




French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu survived the last of a series of confidence votes, allowing the full 2026 budget to be adopted. The centurion prime minister pushed the bill through parliament without a vote after securing the support of the Socialist Party in exchange for some costly concessions. Also in the segment, US President Donald Trump says he will lower tariffs on Indian goods after New Delhi pledged to end purchases of Russian oil.
