TV host Jenny McCarthy The assassination of Charlie Kirk sparked a spiritual awakening for many people—including herself.
In a Dec. 11 interview with podcast host Alex Clark, the Masked Singer judge and former Playboy Playmate discussed her political shift to the right, her involvement in the Make America Healthy Again movement, and the personal impact Kirk’s life and death had on her.
Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed while speaking at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025.
McCarthy said Kirk’s courage to speak out about his views, even in the face of threats, left a lasting impression on her.

“It’s so sad because he did such a good job,” she said. “It’s amazing to me that people do have two realities because there’s a group of people in the world who have only accepted one narrative of Charlie, and they really, to be fair, don’t see the other side. They’ve accepted one narrative and that’s what they believe.”
She said part of the reason his death affected her so deeply was the backlash she faced for her activism, which she said took a toll on her career.
McCarthy recalled the day Kirk was shot, calling it a “dark day” for countless supporters and saying she pray constantly for his recovery.
“I’m heartbroken,” she said. “When he was shot, I prayed, prayed, prayed, and then I called every doctor I could to tell me that this wound was treatable. You know, I kind of knew that wasn’t the case. It was such a dark day. I think it’s still a dark moment for a lot of people.”

She said she was trying to find meaning in the tragedy, noting what she described as A spiritual “collective awakening” After Kirk’s death.
“With every terrible thing, if you find the good, it can help you move forward. Look at the awakening of the masses. Look at how many people are getting closer to God, even myself included,” she said.
McCarthy said she was raised Catholic and had always had a strong faith, but Kirk’s death profoundly renewed her devotion.

“I have always been a followers of christBut when he died, I completely surrendered,” she said. “I was so devoted. I mean, I started Bible study right away. “
She added that she believed Kirk understood the risks of his activism and that the reaction to his death showed how widely admired he was.

“I think Charlie knows what he’s doing,” she said. “I know now that he knew the sacrifice that he was making, watching his memorial and feeling it. Don’t you guys feel that across the country, you guys, around the world? Like, I felt a massive awakening.”
Faith leaders told Fox News Digital in September that they are seeing increased church attendance and increases in faith participation among college students across the country, which some attribute to “The Charlie Kirk effect.“
