Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy slams dangerous anti-ICE rhetoric

former speaker of house of representatives Kevin McCarthy Criticized Democratic politicians and social media figures for their anti-ICE rhetoric, arguing that requests to identify agents would intimidate and endanger law enforcement officers.

McCarthy reacted to several segments on “America’s Newsroom” Thursday, including one Stephen Colbert Compare ICE and Border Patrol agents to Nazis.

Users on TikTok and Instagram posted videos claiming ICE was “blatantly murdering American citizens” and calling the government fascist. One user suggested adding laxatives to ICE agents’ drinks. Another said: “They were going to kill us anyway, so I thought maybe we should lay siege to them.”

“You know, this language is very damaging,” McCarthy said. “It’s going to put people in harm’s way.”
