Former French Prime Minister Elizabeth Borne was appointed Minister of Education




Among the familiar faces in the new French government is Elisabeth Borne, who was Macron’s second prime minister from 2022 to 2024 when she resigned in a government reshuffle. Placing the former prime minister in charge of education is seen as a sign of the importance Macron and Bayrou attach to reforming and improving the French education system, which has been in crisis for years due to a lack of staff and resources.
