“BCB recalls with gratitude her (Zia) blessings and best wishes for the continued progress of cricket in the country,” a BCB statement said, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.
“During her tenure as Prime Minister, she provided outstanding support for the development of cricket in Bangladesh, making significant contributions to the improvement of cricket infrastructure and the growth of cricket across the country. Her vision and encouragement paved the way for many of the advancements the game has made today,” it added.
“To mourn the nation and honor the legacy of Mrs Khaleda Zia, BCB announces that today’s scheduled Bangladesh Premier League matches have been canceled and will be rescheduled. Further details on the revised schedule will be communicated in due course.”

Mrs. Khaleda Zia passed away in the early hours of Tuesday. She is undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.
The BNP statement read: “Khaleda Zia passed away at around 6:00 am after Fajr prayers. We pray for the eternal peace of her soul and ask everyone to pray for her departed soul.”
Zia was admitted to hospital on November 23 due to lung infection. She suffered from multiple medical conditions, including diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, cirrhosis and kidney complications.
