Another fan account posted a photo of Minaj and Trump, “Officially a Republican!!!! I will never vote for a Democrat again.” The post has also been viewed more than 300,000 times.
“MAGA BARBZ IT IS I will never vote for them again!!” a third account wrote in a post that attracted more than 70,000 views.
Minaj has made a series of high-profile political statements and public appearances over the past week, sparking reactions online. Minaj’s political shift also drew backlash from critics and some fans. Video footage went viral showing her music being booed in a club, and an online petition calling for her deportation gained traction. She also received criticism from public opinion Trevor Noah at the Grammy Awards last week.
Some critics believe Meena’s alliance with Trump was motivated by a desire to secure a pardon for her brother and husband. Minaj refuted the claim, saying criticism of her political views “pushed me to support him more.”
