Chelsea fans were shocked this week when it was revealed that Mykhailo Mudryk had tested positive for a banned substance and would be suspended until further notice.
The Ukrainian has missed the London club’s last five games and has not played since a Europa League tie at Heidenheim on November 28. This was due to illness, but some suspect it may be related to a failed test.
Chelsea confirmed the news in a statement on Tuesday, while Mudryk is currently awaiting results from the “B” sample and whether it confirmed the findings of his “A” sample.
The winger has been suspended in the meantime, a situation that could ruin his football career.
Enzo Maresca believes this is not the end for the 23-year-old and expressed his support for the player at a recent press conference.
