Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown His performance off the bench in the team’s playoff win over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night turned heads.

In the fourth quarter, Brown was on the bench, sitting among his teammates, and the Fox broadcast spotted him pulling out a book to read.

“I haven’t seen a lot of people reading, but I’ve seen quarterbacks eating hot dogs,” tom brady Former New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez said of his viral moment as a player.

I happened to see the title of this book on the radio: “Excellence Within: Training Your Mind for Extraordinary Performance and Your Best Life.” The author of this book is Jim Murphy.

“Whether you’re an athlete or an entrepreneur, a single mother or the father of five, you’ll find exercises, tips, and tools in this book that will improve every aspect of your life,” the book the description reads. “When you move beyond the pursuit of happiness to a life of purpose and fulfillment, your life will take on new meaning.”

Brown said after the game that he takes the book with him to the sidelines every week.

“It gave me a sense of calm,” he said via NFL Network. “It’s a book I bring to every game. My teammates call it the cookbook. … There’s a lot of scoring in there. A lot of mind games.”

Golf guru Stuart Cink and PGA Tour coach Matt Killen have both been cited in support of Murphy’s book, according to its Amazon page.

“My number one secret to success: read Jim Murphy’s Greatness Within,” Zink said.

“I read the first edition of Inner Excellence six times. I recommend that all of my clients read it,” Killen said.
