Nottingham Forest Manager Sean Dyche has played down the possibility of him losing his job Humble defeat at Leeds United.

Forest were comfortably second in a 3-1 defeat at Elland Road last Friday. A day later, with West Ham winning 2-0 at Burnley, Dyche’s men Just three points above the relegation zone.

Dyche was nominated for the Premier League Manager of the Month award for January, with Forest’s result ending a four-game unbeaten run in West Yorkshire.

If the Hammers can stun Manchester United, Forest will take on Wolves in Wednesday’s game to erase West Ham.

However, Dyche fielded questions over his future at The City Ground short shift.

“Ownership has always been in touch with me,” Dyche said in his pre-match press conference.

“The owner knows very well, and I made it clear to him, that it’s never going to be smooth sailing this whole way. We’ve seen some hiccups; some good days and not so good days.

“We came off after the Palace game (a 1-1 draw) and got a really important point. It was a good point after the 10 v 11 situation (after Neko Williams’ red card) and he (Marinakis) was congratulating me.

“I don’t think it will be that extreme on one game where he will suddenly say: ‘Right, we need to change everything at the club for the fourth time’.

“You never know. But I’m a realist, and it’s also about the current situation and what we’ve handled here.

“On the same day I was (nominated for) manager of the month, people were saying I should be fired. It’s a new one for me, and I’ve been doing this for a long time.”
