Dundee United 0 – 3 Hearts

Pierre Landry Kabore scored twice as Premier League leaders Hearts ratcheted up the pressure on title rivals Rangers and Celtic with a 3-0 win away to nine-man Dundee United.

Jambos scored early through Kabore and doubled their lead with Alessandro Kyziridis’ penalty shortly after home winger Ammar Fattah was sent off.

United substitute Pan Camara was then sent off as Kabore comfortably sealed victory, with Derek McInnes’s league leaders seven points ahead of Rangers and nine ahead of Celtic. The two Glasgow teams will play on Sunday.

United handed former Charlton goalkeeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer his first appearance since August.

Hearts made three changes to the squad from last Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Celtic, with goalkeeper Alexander Schwallow returning along with Jordy Artner and Oisin McEntee.

It has been raining at Tannadice Stadium for much of the past two weeks, with both sides struggling to find a rhythm in the opening stages.

But Hearts came back from the dead in the 11th minute and took the lead with a brilliant move. Harry Milne played a one-two with Claudio Braga on the left, sprinted towards the line and fired a low shot across the face of goal for Kabore to score from close range.

Alessandro Chiziridis also scored a penalty kick

In the 24th minute, Fatah was sent off, and Manchester United’s hopes of recovery suffered a huge blow. The Swedish winger grabbed Mark Leonard’s ankle and was initially booked but was sent off after VAR intervention.

Things got even worse for the home team when Hearts doubled their lead in the 29th minute. Bulaga was fouled while trying to get away from Ryan Strang and the Jambos were awarded a free kick on the left edge of the area.

VAR came into play again, determining that the attack had occurred in the penalty area, and Kyziridis stepped up to deny Maynard Brewer from the penalty spot for his first goal since the end of October.

Manager Jim Goodwin responded by replacing Christian Keresztes with former Barnsley defender Neil Farrugia, who was brought on to make his debut.

With Hearts in full command, Kabore’s header from the corner was blocked by Maynard Brewer, who had to tip Milne’s diagonal shot over the crossbar.

After the break, the visitors maintained their advantage and Thomas Magnussen headed in a McEntee cross at the start of the second half.

The home side’s hopes of returning to the game were dashed in the 75th minute after United substitute Zach Sapsford repeatedly threatened, with Kamara sent off for head-butting Leonard as the hosts awaited a free kick. Manchester United manager Dave Bowman was also sent to the stands for protesting.

Kabore was denied by Maynard Brewer with two saves not long ago, and then in the 81st minute, his 10-yard shot was marked by Magnussen, but the shot went wide of the home team’s goalkeeper.

What will happen to the Scottish Premiership?
