“No one pushed harder than me to release the Epstein files and I’m glad it finally happened,” Elon Musk wrote on Saturday. He also now admits, “I had very little correspondence with Epstein and declined repeated invitations to go to his island or fly on his ‘Lolita Express’, but knew that some email correspondence with him could be misinterpreted and used by detractors to damage my name.
Sorry but “misinterpreted”? Even if you do your absolute damndest to read this person newly released Epstein emails In a positive light, what you get is the story of a tech tycoon who vaguely declares that he wants to attend a full-blown sex offender’s private island.
“Which day/night will be the wildest party on your island?” Elon Musk asked Jeffrey Epstein on Nov. 25, 2012.
In 2019, Musk told Vanity Fair that in their previous interactions, she noted that Epstein was “clearly a creep.” In fact, no caution was needed to get this attribute off Epstein’s back in 2012. He already had a conviction on his record at the time of soliciting prostitution, and it was also widely reported in the media that the prostitution conviction It comes from a generous plea bargain, and that the charges Epstein faces include sexual relations with minors..
So with that in mind, here’s what Musk and Epstein wrote as they were tried to make plans in 2012 for Musk to visit Epstein’s island with British actress Talulah RileyMusk’s wife at the time (typos and other text issues I don’t want. I don’t want to be accused of misinterpreting):
Epstein: you are welcome to stay or just come for the day, i have many rrooms = send a heli to get you
Musk: Do you have any parties planned? I work until the end of the sanity th = s year and so, once my children come home after Christmas, I really want to hi = the party scene in St Barts or somewhere and let loose. The invitation = much appreciated, but a peaceful island experience was the opposite of what I was looking for.
Epstein: Understand, , See you in st Barth, the ratio of my island will be uncomfortable in Talilah
Musk: Ratio is not a problem for Talulah
It may be true that Musk declined one or more invitations to visit, but he also tried to make plans to visit several times. In addition to the aforementioned change, he emailed Epstein on December 14, 2013 says he’s going to the Virgin Islands “over the holidays,” and asks “Is there a good time to visit?” In my opinion it’s kind of morally wrong to turn down offers to take you to Epstein’s island if you’re also going to repeatedly try to visit Epstein’s island.
Also, his tune has changed with this I’m-the-guy-who-denied-Epstein narrative. When he it was stated beforehe said “Epstein tried to get me to go to his island and I refused.” He may not have been there, but “RETURNED” overstates things at best.
There is actually no evidence of a crime being committed here, and as others have noted it looks from the emails that the timing didn’t work for Musk to visit the island. At times Musk actually refused, but to a point it was Epstein who canceled the plan. And Epstein did continue in 2014 trying to get Musk to visit the island, which he apparently did not do.
But there is little doubt that the record of the past years shows strong evidence of a man who wants to party his ass on an island that he knows is full of women of one age or another, and that these women were there at the pleasure of a convicted lawyer of prostitutes and accused minor sex-haver. Arguing this would involve some interesting counter-narratives, perhaps about Musk being a mole for the anti-human-trafficking militia from the movie. Voice of Freedom or something like that.
On Saturday morning, Musk didn’t offer any counter-narrative to remedy the supposed misinterpretations of his detractors — just a call for real evildoers to be brought to justice what is now his pinned post on X:
“What is important is not the release of some subset of the Epstein files, but the prosecution of those who committed heinous crimes with Epstein. If there is at least one arrest, there will be some justice done. Otherwise, it is all performative.
But as long as he doesn’t give the public a plausible excuse, his ass pretty much hangs out for nothing, and he can, at least, save us all from his highroading and grandstanding.
