Director Julio Palacio on his moving film ‘Makayla’s Voice: A Letter to the World’




The award-winning director spoke to FRANCE 24 about his short film, which reveals the world of an extraordinary young woman and her family’s journey to understand it. Makayla is a teenager living with a rare form of autism that has left her practically non-verbal. But thanks to a simple technique, she began to communicate for the first time. The story was filmed in the movie “Makayla’s Voice: A Letter to the World”. Director Julio Palacio talked to us in Perspektiva.
