Denny Hamlin Brad Gilley called for “accountability” when he chimed in to defend his SiriusXM co-host Larry McReynolds. Gilley hopes to end the animosity because Hamlin highlighted McReynolds’ harsh words when the antitrust lawsuit was originally filed.
Hamlin’s original X post cited comments from MacReynolds, who criticized 23XI Racing for trying to change the sport when they haven’t been in the sport long. The famed team captain also believed Front Row Motorsports wasn’t “good enough” to join the lawsuit.
Thanks for your submission!
Reflecting on the same thing, Denny Hamlin replied to MacReynolds’s postwriting,
“Good morning. Now that the case has been resolved and the evidence is out, will you or anyone on Channel 90 apologize for what you said about 23XI/FRM when the lawsuit was filed?”
“I know you’re responding to Larry,” Gilly responded, “but shouldn’t we let the hate end? I’m glad to see us all working together and with grace to actively move this movement forward.”
“Hate ends with responsibility,” Hamlin countered.
Fans praise Denny Hamlin for ‘saving the sport’. Antitrust lawsuit reaches landmark settlement, delivering major win for team. Every Cup Series team will benefit from the settlement except 23XI and FRM. From shares of international media rights deals to evergreen franchises, the team’s valuation has risen since the legal dispute ended.
Denny Hamlin opens up about staying competitive in NASCAR
Earlier this year, Denny Hamlin appeared on digital social time podcast and looked back at his time competing on the NASCAR circuit. He shared how difficult it is to sustain most drivers when they end up spending time in the RV area.
“It’s very difficult to stay competitive in NASCAR because we have what they call RV parks. So, a lot of people aren’t staying in hotels. They have a bus at the track,” he said via Ad Baker.
“So, girlfriends hang out,” he added, “family hangs out, our kids hang out. It’s hard to be completely apart. You can be rivals on the track, but then you come back and you’re like, ‘Oh, our kids hung out.'”
Denny Hamlin has had many notable rivals during his 20-year Cup career, with Joey Logano and Kyle Larson being the most notable examples. He even clashed with his fellow 23XI rider Bubba Wallace.
Wallace curses loudly when complaining about Hamlin he said on the team radio after a recent playoff game at Kansas Speedway. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver cornered the Alabama native, allowing Chase Elliott to win the race, prompting the No. 23 driver to raise his middle finger.
Subsequently, the two had a “heart-to-heart” conversation and settled the quarrel.
