‘Democracy is losing’: France has fallen to a new annual low in the global corruption index




France fell to an all-time low in a global corruption index released on Tuesday, following last year’s high-profile scandals involving former president Nicolas Sarkozy, far-right leader Marine Le Pen and a government cover-up of wrongdoing at mineral water company Perrier.
