Dear SoFi Stock fans, mark your calendars for January 30th

SoFi Technologies ( SOFI ), founded in 2011, has entered earnings season with investors clearly more cautious than enthusiastic. The stock has dropped below $30 and is now trading about 40.34% below its 52-week high.

The decline followed a predictable sequence. Management’s $1.5 billion capital raising reopened concerns about dilution just as early investors began locking in profits after a sharp rally. With valuations already high, the market chose discipline and took a step back rather than push prices higher.

But a narrow focus on stocks obscures the bigger picture. SoFi’s underlying business is still expanding. Product adoption is consistent, membership growth is robust, and engagement metrics show no sign of fatigue.

The notion is supported by investor behavior. Shares rose 4.9% when the company revealed its earnings schedule on Jan. 2, and gained an additional 6.6% in after-hours trading.

So let’s weigh in on what investors might do with SoFi stock after earnings, which will be released on Friday, January 30th, before the market opens.

Based in San Francisco, California, SoFi is a member-centric digital financial ecosystem rather than a single-product fintech. With a market capitalization of about $31.1 billion, it spans lending, banking technology, APIs, investment tools and cash management under one integrated platform.

Even so, the course of the actions has not been smooth. Over the past 52 weeks, SoFi shares gained nearly 58.33%. The force rose 20% over six months before falling 5.95% last month as valuation discipline returned.

SoFi stock now trades at 70.95 times forward adjusted earnings and 9.17 times sales. The multiples are well above industry averages, indicating a significant premium and leaving little room for error as expectations remain high.

On Oct. 28, 2025, SoFi delivered Q3 2025 earnings that sent its stock up 5.5% in a single trading session. Revenue rose 37.9% year-over-year (YOY) to $961.6 million, easily beating analysts’ estimates of $904.4 million. Adjusted EPS rose 120% from the year-ago quarter to $0.11, beating consensus expectations of $0.08.

Margins have widened in tandem. Adjusted net income increased 129.5% year-over-year to $139.4 million, while adjusted EBITDA increased 48.7% year-over-year to $276.9 million. The growth extended well beyond finance. SoFi added a record 905,000 new members, bringing total membership to 12.6 million, a 35% year-over-year increase.

Product growth followed suit, with 1.4 million new products added, bringing the total to 18.6 million, up 36% year over year. In addition, the quality of engagement has improved significantly. Approximately 40% of new products came from existing members, marking the highest cross-buy rate since 2022 and extending a four-quarter upward trend.

Looking ahead, management has accordingly increased guidance for fiscal 2025. The company now expects to add approximately 3.5 million members, which represents growth of 34%, up from previous guidance of three million and 30%. Adjusted net income is expected to be $3.54 billion, implying growth of 36% compared to the previous outlook of 30%.

Management also now expects adjusted EBITDA of nearly $1 billion, up from $960 million, representing a margin of 29%. Adjusted net income is expected to come in at $455 million, up from $370 million previously, with adjusted EPS rising to $0.37 from $0.31.

On the other hand, analysts forecast 2025 Q4 EPS to grow 140% year-over-year to $0.12. For FY2025, the bottom line is forecast to grow 146.7% to $0.37, followed by another 59.5% increase in FY2026 to $0.59.

Wall Street, however, remains measured. SOFI stock currently has an overall rating of “Hold”. Among 24 analysts, five rate it a “Strong Buy”, two suggest a “Moderate Buy”, 12 recommend a “Hold”, two lean towards a “Moderate Sell” and three have assigned a “Strong Sell”.

However, the division reflects tension rather than confusion. SoFi continues to scale rapidly, monetize effectively, and deepen engagement. Higher product usage, expansion of capital-light companies and strong deposits are collectively supporting durable growth.

However, the average price target of $27.58 implies a gain of 8.3% from current levels. More optimistically, the Street-high target of $38 suggests almost 49.3% upside from current levels.
