Daniel Dubois’ war of words with Oleksandr Usyk escalates as he insists the Ukrainian was “lucky” in their first fight and will win a possible win later this year Defeated in rematch.
However, Usyk’s camp has responded by insisting the Briton won’t even defeat Joseph Parker when he defends his world heavyweight title for the first time next month.
Dubois captured the IBF title after defeating Anthony Joshua in September and has been Calling for an uncontested showdown with UsykHolds WBO, WBA and WBC gold belts.
The two first met in a controversial fight in Poland in 2023, when Dubois knocked the Ukrainian down in the fifth round with a body shot that the referee ruled was a low blow and subsequently gave him the fight. More recovery time.
Usyk ultimately won via knockout, but Dubois told Sky Sports the rematch would look very different.
“I’m not going to let him off the hook next time,” he said at the Ring Magazine Awards.
“He had a lucky escape last time.
“I need to right my wrongs and get my revenge. But first is Joseph Parker, and all eyes are on him.”
Usyk has two wins over Tyson Fury in 2024, but promoter Alex Klasyuk is not currently considering a rematch with Dubois.
That’s because he expects Parker to take the IBF title from him when they fight in Riyadh on February 22.
“You never know. We don’t know (what will happen next),” Krasiuk told Sky Sports.
“It’s time to relax. It’s time to rest.”
“Then after Dubois fought Parker, I thought Parker was going to win, we just didn’t know what was going to happen.”

However, Dubois insists he can carry the momentum from his historic win over Joshua at Wembley into next month’s fight in Saudi Arabia.
He insists he will beat Parker, who has beaten Zhang Zhilei and Deontay Wilder in his past two fights.
“I’m confident, I’m ready,” DuBois added.
“Everybody has to grow, right? I’m confident, ready to fight, ready to work hard for him and keep going.”
“We’re moving forward and I really want to keep this momentum going until we get to the top.”
