Crawford gives final prediction on Teofimo Lopez vs. Shakur Stevenson: ‘It’s going to be too much’

Boxing fans are just days away from witnessing one of the best technical matchups the sport has to offer – Teofimo Lopez vs. Shakur Stevenson.

Lopez is at his best when he takes on three-division champion Stevenson in his 140-pound debut for the WBO super lightweight world title.

During the final press conference, broadcast live on DAZN, recently retired heavyweight superstar Terence Crawford joined the panel to discuss the main event.

“Teofimo is a good fighter. He’s very talented and athletic. In big moments like this, he always steps up. But Shakur is on another level. This Saturday, he’s going to prove that.”

When asked what version of Stevenson fans can expect to see – we’ve seen the super safety No. 1 in the past, but there’s more to it Willing to rely on timing and counterattacks to make pocket trades last time out against William Zepeda — “Bud” predicts a combination.

“To be honest, I think he’s going to do something. I think we’re going to see the best of Shakur Stevenson on Saturday, and I think it’s going to be too much… Teofimo has been very good against southpaws, but Shakur has also been very good against orthodox fighters. Shakur is not the average southpaw that Teofimo has been fighting. That’s why I say he’s a higher level.”

Finally, he passed on his advice to his training partners and friends.

“Be yourself. It’s another day at the office. Another walk in the park. There’s no reason to put too much pressure on yourself because you know what you’re capable of.”

Lopez-Stevenson headlines a show this Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York City and can be streamed live around the world on DAZN PPV.
