Connor Zilish and three others JR Motorsports The teammates are all ready to participate in the first round of the top 8 matches. The 19-year-old driver recently spoke about the dynamics within the team and balancing competitiveness as they all battle for fourth place in the championship over the next three races.

Driving for Dale Earnhardt Jr. Nazca Within the team, Zilisch has been the most dominant car on road courses and traditional ovals. The No. 88 Chevrolet driver entered the opening round of the Round of 8 57 points clear of the finish line, followed by teammate Justin Allgaier with 24 points. Meanwhile, two other JRM riders, Sammy Smith and Carson Kvapil, were seven and 11 points below the cutoff respectively.

Ahead of the Focused Health 302 event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Zilisch shared his candid thoughts on his team’s challenges in the postseason. In media reports, Zilisch explain (from track media):

“It’s hard to balance that, but I feel like all four of us have a good understanding and get along. We know when to be nice and like the people that are there.” Rovalwe tried to help #1 (Carson Kvapil) and #8 (Sammy Smith) get in as much as they could. There wasn’t really anything I could do to help them, but the goal was to get both of them through and I’m glad it worked out. “

Additionally, Connor Zilisch discusses simple guidance from his mentor, NASCAR legend Dale Jr., when they were the leaders in the field. He added:

“Dale always told us that when you have four fast cars in front of you, sometimes stuff happens, but we try to deal with it. I’ve tried to get better and be able to treat these guys the right way and I feel like I’ve gotten better at that.”

Connor Zilisch has 10 wins under his belt and is heading into Las Vegas with a lot of momentum. Additionally, he hopes to “relieve stress” with a victory in Sin City.

Fresh off his victory at the Charlotte ROVAL, Connor Zilisch recently shared his thoughts on redemption at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday, October 11th. Zilisch finished P9 earlier this season.

During media interactions ahead of the Nevada race weekend, Zilisch said:

“Las Vegas is one of our biggest races of the season and to me it’s a really good track. I loved racing there earlier in the year. I’m glad we got back there and I had a chance at redemption. We might have had a chance to win the race in March, but I accelerated on pit road in the final stage and we finished ninth. I know if we do our job this weekend we’ll have a good chance of winning the race. Winning there becomes a big pressure reliever as we lock in a fourth-place spot in the championship.”
