Connor Benn tells Shakur Stevenson to pay weight clause

Connor Benn isn’t backing down after his recent in-ring confrontation with Shakur Stevenson.

When Stevenson suggested a rehydration clause for the two to meet, Ben’s answer was straightforward: pay. This matchup feels even more complicated as Stevenson has become a hot topic in boxing. He had just defeated Teofimo Lopez in a clear unanimous decision at Madison Square Garden to capture the WBO light welterweight title.

If Ben had his way and competed without weight restrictions on fight night, he would have a huge physical advantage. In addition to being the bigger man, Ben brings an aggression and strength that Stevenson hasn’t yet dealt with. While Lopez looked hesitant at times, Ben is the type of fighter willing to take a jab in order to land a devastating uppercut. That relentless pressure could create a nightmare for the New Jersey native.

Even if Stevenson falls short, he has a safety net. Moving up to a new weight class offered a simple explanation for the weight loss and allowed him to keep his star power intact while claiming he was simply biting off more than he could chew.

Ben continued the trend on social media, telling Stevenson to get ready for a potential date at Wembley. He made it clear that while he was willing to drop to 147 pounds for the first time in three years, any additional restrictions on his size would come at a heavy cost.

Conner believes he has what it takes to handle Shakur. The real question is whether the fight can be played given Stevenson’s request for rehydration. Ben has made too much money in his last two games to follow orders.

“Shakur, seal it at Wembley. Get ready,” said Conor Benn social media.

“You want a rehydration clause? You have to pay for it. I’m still going to break your ass. I shot 147 for the first time in three years and I’m still going to give it to you,” Ben said.
