Rajasthan Royals past performances and IPL titles
Rajasthan Royals are one of those teams that look strong on paper every year but fail to deliver consistently good performances, last season was a good example of this when the team lost a lot of games in a winning position.
2008-2013

Led by Shane Warne and with multiple inexperienced players, RR shocked everyone by lifting the trophy in their first season in the league.
It was a complete team effort, led by lesser-known players like Ravindra Jadeja and Swapnil Asnodkar as well as experienced players like Mohammad Kaif and captain Shane Warne.
The team’s bowling department was led by Sahail Tanvir, who emerged as the highest wicket-taker for the eventual champions.
However, the team failed to maintain a stable performance, finishing sixth and seventh in 2009 and 2010 respectively, failing to advance to the knockout rounds.
The same story continued till 2012 and Rajasthan Royals had to wait until 2013 to qualify for the playoffs
2014-2019
In 2014, RR trailed Mumbai Indians in net run rate even though both teams were tied on points, but Aditya Tare’s six off the last ball changed the situation.
Rajasthan Royals have enough resources to get the job done as a team but they fail to pull it together on many occasions.
Having said that, 2015 was the year RR showed its best form after missing out on the playoffs in 2014 and advancing to the top four.
After missing out on the league in previous years, the team made a strong comeback in 2018 and reached the playoffs again with 14 points.
2020-2025
Although RR performed well in 2018, their next playoff appearance will have to wait until 2022 and this time the team performed well and made it all the way to the final against the Gujarat Titans.
As was the case with RR, the team failed to build on the good performance they achieved in 2022 and made a series of changes to the regular lineup, resulting in mediocre performances over the past three editions.
Players retained by Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals need to find a captain for the upcoming season after trading former skipper Sanju Samson. The team is expected to look to young players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel or Riyan Parag to lead the side.
