Clash of Clans Town Hall 18 is getting a major gameplay update, with Supercell rolling out new balance and league correction changes on January 28, 2026 to make the defense system less effective while improving the performance of less popular units. New balance changes will impact the development of your war strategy, whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a beginner making your way through City Hall.

All Clash of Clans balance changes introduced on January 28, 2026

Balance changes have a great impact on high-level defenses and troops such as super wizards and poisonous lizards. Below are full details of all the changes happening to Town Hall 18 in your village.

defensive nerves

Town Hall 18’s defense has been weakened recently, so they’ve been weakened to allow you to come up with more offensive strategies.

  • Ricochet Cannon: Bounce shot damage is reduced from 100% to 70%, and the bounce radius is reduced from 4.5 blocks to 3.5 blocks.
  • Multi-Archer Tower: With attack speed now slowed from 500 ms to 600 ms, your backline units may survive longer.
  • Revenge Tower (TH18): Attack speed reduced from 300 ms to 350 ms. Phase 3 now requires 25 destroyed buildings, while Phase 4 requires 50.
  • Short range mode (multi-gear tower): All levels receive approximately 10.6% damage nerf.
  • Builder’s Hut: Builder movement speed reduced from 28 to 20.

Defense gain

The new balance changes aren’t just bad news for builders, as the range of builder bases has also been significantly improved.

  • Remote Mode (Multi-Gear Tower): All classes have received approximately a 15% damage buff to better deal with long-range threats.

Troop buffs

If you like smash attack strategies or special forces, today is a great day for you, as several units are getting some significant boosts.

  • Super Wizard (Level 9 to Level 14): The health of these wizards has been greatly increased from 21% to 41%. They probably wouldn’t die immediately from the giant bomb.
  • Super Archer (levels 10 to 13): Their health has also been increased from 2.7% to 9.6%.
  • Thrower (levels 1 to 4): These ground units become faster and stronger, with health increased by 4%, DPS increased by 4% to 5%, and movement speed increased from 16 to 18.
  • E-Titan (Level 4): These Titans’ health has been increased from 8400 to 8700, making them more tanky.
  • Super Minions: Their flying beasts can now shoot 8 times instead of 7, and their range has been increased from 10 tiles to 10.25 tiles.
  • Poisonous Lizard (all levels): The attack range is increased from 3.5 squares to 4.5 squares, and the health value is greatly increased from 10% to 21%.
  • Giant Giant: Significant quality of life changes for AI logic, as Grand Warden or Eagle Artillery will no longer prioritize Giants.

Army nerves

Only one unit was actually hit by this late January 2026 change, but it was a significant blow.

  • Meteor Golem (all levels): Meteor Golem’s dominance is reduced, its health is reduced by approximately 13% to 16%, and its DPS is also reduced by 14% to 16%.

equipment enthusiast

Hero equipment continues to evolve, and new changes make the Barbarian King and the Soldier Prince more powerful.

  • MP Noble Iron (all levels): The equipment received triple buffs, with increased range, more shots, and faster attacks.
  • BK Giant Gloves (all levels): With the damage reduction and duration of the gloves increased, the Barbarian King may become a terror again.

League modifier

Percentage boosts across leagues have been scaled back across the board to keep the challenge high in competitive play.

  • League of Legends (LL): Defense DPS and defense hero boost decreased from 20% to 15%. Offensive hero buff reduced from 10% to 5%.
  • Master League (E33): Defense DPS and hero buff reduced from 14% to 10%. Offensive hero boost is now 0% (was 6%).
  • Expert Alliance (E32): Defense DPS and hero boost reduced from 7% to 5%. Offensive hero boost is now 0% (was 3%).
  • equipment: There are no changes to gear modifiers in these leagues.
