But sure enough, the crafty southpaw quickly dispelled any doubts about his dominance between 135 and 140 pounds, wrestling just one round before raising his hand at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
As a result, many believe his best chance of being properly tested may be at 147 pounds, with WBO champion Devin Haney possibly being his toughest opponent.

Beyond that, the American’s most notable wins came against Regis Progres and Vasyl Lomachenko, who some believe will be enough to beat Haney in 2023.
But Algeria still tells Inside the boxing scene “The Dream” is largely based on his encounter with Lomachenko and is the best chance to solve Stevenson’s conundrum.
“Devin Haney (is the favorite to beat Stevenson). (He’s) big, long, athletic, has a high IQ, has a great jab, good footwork (and) has great endurance.
“If you want to compete with Shakur Stevenson, this is all you need.
“Haney has, and he has experience; he’s mature; he’s been around top players.
“If you’re neck-and-neck with Lomachenko, that says a lot about your ability to handle a high ring IQ.”
A victory over Haney would make Stevenson a five-weight world champion, equaling the achievement of his lifelong friend and mentor Terrence Crawford.
