Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson An executive order was signed on Monday that prohibited federal immigration agents from using city-owned property for immigration enforcement actions as the Trump administration deployed the National Guard to Illinois.
Johnson established “ice-free zone” – referring to U.S. immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) – as part of him Protect Chicago Initiative, Rejecting President Donald Trump’s criminal crackdown and deportation rolled out.
“Today, we are signing an executive order to re-enforce that control government,” Johnson said in a press conference on Monday. “The order creates an ice-free area. This means that urban property and unwilling private businesses will no longer be the stages of these attacks.”
Just as Chicago seeks to stop ICE’s deportation efforts, Johnson and Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker File a lawsuit on Monday, Try to prevent the Trump administration from deploying the National Guard to Illinois.

“The Trump administration must end the war against Chicago,” Johnson said. “The Trump administration must end the war against Americans. The Trump administration must end its efforts to demolish our democracy.”
He mocked “Slob” Pritzker after White House rejected Trump’s National Guard plan
In his speech, Johnson accused “extreme rights” of accepting the outcome of the civil war when he refused to accept slavery.
“They repeatedly called for a rematch, but in the coming weeks we will use this opportunity to build greater resistance. Chicagoans are aware that militarizing our troops in the city is to further escalate the legitimacy of the war in Chicago.”
“The right of this country wants to engage in a civil war,” Johnson repeated in a press conference.

“Through this executive order, Chicago has firmly protected the constitutional rights of our residents and Immigration Community And stick to our democracy. ” Johnson said.
Johnson directed Chicago agencies and departments to identify spaces over the next five days that were targeted during the ice raid and sent a clear message to federal immigration officials that property owned by the city would not be used for immigration enforcement, including as a stage area, processing location or operating base.
“If the federal government violates this executive order, we will bring them to court,” Johnson said.
Pritzker, long considered a presidential candidate for 2028, said Sunday that he refused to comply with the Trump administration’s “last-atum” to deploy Illinois National Guard forces, calling it “absolutely outrageous and non-American.”
“We must start calling it now: Trump’s invasion,” Pritzker said.

Pritzker refused to deploy his own troops after the Texas government. Greg Abbott Trump is authorized to send 400 Texas National Guard members to Illinois and Oregon.
The White House mocked Pritzker on Monday for refusing Trump to deploy to Illinois to fight crime.

“Plitzker should be ashamed of himself,” she said.
The White House and the Department of Homeland Security did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.
