Ahead of National Signing Day, No. 1 quarterback Jared Curtis made a shocking move, switching his commitment from Georgia to Clark Lee’s Vanderbilt University. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound prospect committed to the Bulldogs in May.
The high school senior gave up his biggest commitment ever to Vanderbilt just hours before the national signing period began. Fans had mixed reactions to the decision, especially on social media.

Vanderbilt has been performing well under Clark Lee, especially this season, finishing the regular season with a 10-2 record. Securing Jared Curtis’s signature will go a long way toward ensuring brigadier‘ Beyond this season’s dominance.
Diego Pavia has been a big part of Vanderbilt’s incredible run this season and is in the final lap of his college career. Curtis, a five-star quarterback from Nashville, Tenn., would be an ideal replacement for a Heisman Trophy contender.
Jared Curtis’ Journey to Vanderbilt Commitment
A homegrown talent, Curtis has been leaning toward Vanderbilt for some time, his agent, quarterback rep Peter Weber, said earlier this fall:
“There’s a lot of hype about Vanderbilt right now. The city is hot right now. They beat LSU. They beat Bama last year. I think they did a good job of sparking his interest and getting him curious about the program. There’s a lot of good things happening at Vanderbilt.”
Jared Curtis completed over 70 percent of his passes as a junior, threw for 2,830 yards, 40 touchdowns, and rushed for 18 more scores. He was just as productive as a senior, passing for 1,005 yards and 14 touchdowns in five games.
