Could Wednesday night mark a potentially decisive night in the title race? celtics?
The Championship side’s game against Livingston at Parkhead is about to enter stoppage time. Martin O’NeillPlayers were staring down what was considered a disastrous draw, with Marcelo Saracchi’s superb early goal negated by Robbie Muirhead’s second-half penalty.
Elsewhere, rivals Rangers – who faced a ten-man Motherwell side – were struggling and maintained their status as main challengers with a narrow 1-0 defeat. Premier League Leaders, heart.
However, this is a season full of surprises and confusion, and people’s emotions change dramatically when they die.
On-loan Hoops star Stephen Welsh returns to Glasgow for debut to hit back at Danny Rohl’s side Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Scoring his first goal for the club ensured the positive momentum continued under O’Neill.
Huge positives for Celtic after Livingston win
The only place to start, of course, is Oxlade-Chamberlain, with the 32-year-old announcing his decision to the Parkhead faithful in a fine way after joining on a free transfer after deadline day.
The 35-cap England international has not played an official match since May after leaving Turkish giants Besiktas in the summer, although as they say, the cream always rises to the top and the midfielder’s undeniable ability was on display with a stoppage-time goal.
That magical moment was provided by another goal from summer arrival Sebastian Tounekti, with the Tunisian winger starting on the right flank and picking out his new team-mate on the edge of the box.
Tunecti may well have scored in the first half but his shot was blocked by Jerome Prior, the young winger who became a key player in the game against Dundee after scoring and assisting off the bench.
The 23-year-old may not have scored, but he was back to his best on both sides of the ball again, notably delivering four key passes and completing three successful dribbles during the 90 minutes of play.

The aforementioned Saraki also did well to replace Kieran Tierney at left-back, scoring his first long-range goal to give the Hoops a well-deserved lead in the first half.
Indeed, if the opportunity is taken, the hosts may well disappear from sight in the opening 45, and there is certainly reason for optimism.
That said, it hasn’t been all plain sailing for O’Neal’s men, as the narrow scoreline underscored.
Celtics must sell star who is ‘far from his best’
Whether it’s quantity over quality is debatable, but O’Neill now has plenty of options for the remainder of the campaign, a fact reflected in a host of names that aren’t even in the matchday squad, such as Kelechi Iheanacho, Paul Bernardo, Michel Angie Balikwesha and Joel Mvuka.
These absences suggest that many high-profile players face uncertain futures in Glasgow heading into the summer, as do those who were actually involved in that night’s action.
Indeed, Wednesday’s frantic second half moment may well have been the final straw for many. Hatachi ReoThe Japanese midfielder swung wildly in the penalty area and dragged Muirhead down.
The mistake, whether intentional or not, confirms that the 28-year-old is now showing a degree of disinterest, Journalist Robert Grieve It was previously suggested his “body language” looked “completely wrong”.
That was the view shared by Guardian columnist Dominic Diamond on Wednesday night, who said Hart had been “Far from his recent best”. In fact, ‘recently’ could be replaced by ‘all season’.
Once a central figure under Ange Postecoglou, there was a feeling – in Interest from Brazil -Leaving this summer would be the best course of action as Hart is no longer the ruthless, all-around talent he once was.
For a player as good as he has been to register just one goal and two assists in the Premier League this season makes bad reading, and his attacking influence has begun to wane under O’Neill.
Against Levy, for example, he failed to make a single successful dribble, cross or tackle after replacing the injured Arne Engels on the half-hour mark, and his foul on Millhead was not the only cause for concern on the night.
There is no doubt that Oxlade-Chamberlain will have to relax a bit due to a lack of game time over the past six months or so, although Wednesday could mark a changing of the guard at Parkhead.
Hartart has been a good servant but his exit looks inevitable at the end of the season and Celtic need to put their faith in the title race.
