
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored an injury-time winner on his debut for Celtic in a dramatic 2-1 win over Livingston to keep their title hopes alive.
Celtic’s ambitions to stay level with Hearts at the top of the table began to fade as they struggled to overtake Livingston at the bottom of the table after Robbie Muirhead’s penalty canceled out Marcelo Saraki’s opener.
However, after making his debut as a substitute in the 78th minute, Oxlade-Chamberlain, who had signed for the club just four days earlier, stepped up to score the winning goal in the 91st minute, introducing himself to the home fans in perfect style.
The win, while exciting, should have been more convincing given their dominance on the night, but the Hoops were constantly stymied by Livingston goalkeeper Jerome Pryor, who made nine saves in total.
Martin O’Neill’s side are currently six points behind Hearts at the top of the table with a game remaining, against Kilmarnock on Sunday, live sky sportsas they look to keep up the pressure in the title race.
Rangers conceded a late goal against ten-man Motherwell, meaning Celtic are now just one point behind their opponents.
