Senate Democrats launch a ‘planned effort’ to undermine Public perception of the Supreme CourtCBS News reporter Jan Crawford argued Sunday.

After CBS reporter Major Garrett brought up the Supreme Court’s record-low approval ratings on Sunday’s “Face the Nation,” Crawford said these issues go back to 2024 It’s already started.

“It really started and took off after the Dobbs decision, where the court overturned Roe v. Wade,” Crawford said. “I think the outrage is so extreme that you’re seeing orchestrated efforts by Democrats and Senate Democrats to undermine the legitimacy of the Supreme Court. For example, the hearings, the stories about scandals, some of which are quite dramatic to say the least. Exaggerated so it has an impact on public opinion.”

She continued, “The public has come to believe that this court is corrupt, that it’s being bribed. None of that is true. This is still a court that — you may not agree with their decisions — is a very conservative court. That’s not “These nine justices had very different views on how to interpret the Constitution, and they were involved in this huge fight about law, not politics.”

Crawford mentioned the high-profile presidential immunity case Earlier this summer, the court ruled 6-3 that former presidents like President-elect Donald Trump enjoy substantial immunity from prosecution for official actions.

She criticized her Democratic opponents for “misrepresenting” the case and that the decision actually protected President Biden from prosecution.

“When we look at the polls, of course, the courts have taken a hit, but that’s been the case over the years. The courts have taken a beating quite often. So have other institutions. In the eyes of the courts, public opinion is still much higher than our opinion.” Other institutions , including the White House, Congress, and to date the news media,” Crawford said.

Fox News Poll The study found that the Supreme Court’s approval rating dropped to 38% in 2024, a record low, and the disapproval rate was 60%. The poll was conducted days after a court decision on presidential immunity.
