World number one Carlos Alcaraz has spectacularly parted ways with coach Juan Carlos Ferrero.

Alcaraz announced the end of his partnership a Post on social mediaEnding a seven-year stint with Ferrero.

Ferrero began coaching Alcaraz when the now six-time Grand Slam champion was just 15 years old, helping to deliver six Grand Slam titles under his tutelage.

Two of those came in 2025 as Alcaraz won the French Open and US Open, Jannik defeated Sinner The pair have both reached the finals of all four Grand Slams this year, their doubles dominance. Men’s Tennis continue to grow.

Alcaraz paid tribute to Ferrero

Despite another successful year, the 22-year-old Alcaraz will now go in a different direction with a new coach.

“It is very difficult for me to write this post. After more than seven years together, Juanqui and I have decided to end our time together as coach and player,” Alcaraz wrote.

“Thank you for turning childhood dreams into reality. We started this journey when I was young, and all this time you have been with me on an incredible journey on and off the court. And I have enjoyed every step of it with you.

“We made it to the top, and I think if our sporting paths were to part, it should be there. The place we’ve always worked towards and always aspired to reach. There are so many memories that come to mind that it’s impossible to pick just one. You’ve helped me grow as an athlete, but most of all as a person.

“And something I value very much: I’ve enjoyed the process. That’s what I’ll hold on to, the path we’ve traveled together.

“Now is the time of change for both of us, new ventures and new projects. But I am sure we will face it properly, giving our best, as we have always done. Always adding.

“I wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart in all that is to come. I have peace of mind knowing that we held nothing back, that we gave everything we had for each other.”

In a post on Instagram, former world number one and 2003 French Open winner Ferrero wrote: “I would have loved to continue. I’m sure good memories and good people always find a way to cross paths again. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
