Carl Froch has revealed his prediction for Deontay Wilder vs. Derek Chisora, believing one man will likely take control starting in the fourth round.
Two heavyweights, each entering their 50th professional match, The Misfits Pro card will be held at London’s O2 Arena on April 4.
Chisora has emerged as the favorite, perhaps because of his performances in the last three games, while many believe his American counterpart has become obsolete.
After all, Wilder has only won two of his past six fights. The 40-year-old most recently defeated Tyrell Herndon in the seventh round in June, but before that he was forced to suffer two tough defeats to Zhang Zhilei and Joseph Parker.
Even before these fights, Robert Helenius’ first-round appearance in 2022 failed to convince many fans that the former world champion had returned to his devastating form following consecutive losses to Tyson Fury.
Chisora, meanwhile, has won three points over Otto Walling, Joe Joyce and Gerald Washington since his start. Lost to Fury in stoppage time in the tenth round 2022.
While some of the biggest names in the sport believe the 42-year-old Englishman should have hung up his gloves, there is a feeling he still has enough left in the tank to beat Wilder.
This sentiment was shared by Hall of Famer Froch, who spoke directly to Chisora Froch on combatwent on to predict a favorable outcome for the British veteran.
“I feel like you get him at the right time. That’s not a problem, but he also gets you at the right time because you’re at the end of your career.
“I kind of like you because you’re always productive; you’re always motivated and refuse to give up.
“When you start pushing him back after the fourth, fifth and sixth rounds, he’s going to look at the exit and think, ‘I want to go home.'”
Chisora will look to push the pace and neutralize Wilder, who must prove those who think he is “shy” wrong. Retirement may seem like the loser’s only option, but the “Bronze Bomber” says he will keep fighting no matter the outcome. Chisora, meanwhile, says he will hang up his gloves regardless of win, loss or draw.
