Suryakumar Yadav often messages me – Khushi Mukherjee
Despite leading India to the 2025 Asia Cup title, Suryakumar Yadav has come under scrutiny recently for his declining batting form. Off the field, Khush Mukherjee’s unexpected comments increased the attention surrounding the Indian skipper.
Her remarks came as Suryakumar was on a private visit to the Tirupati temple with his wife Devisha. The right-handed batsman is yet to respond publicly to the matter.
“I don’t want to date any cricketer. A lot of cricketers are following me. Suryakumar used to message me. We don’t talk much now. I don’t even want my name to be associated with him. I don’t like the news about my association,” she said.
Suryakumar aims to regain rhythm ahead of 2026 T20 World Cup
Suryakumar Yadav last played in the five-match T20I series against South Africa at home and had scores of 12, 5, 12 and 5. However, the Men in Blue sealed the series victory 3-1.
In 2025, Suryakumar scored only 218 runs in 19 T20I innings, with an average of 13.62 and a strike rate of 123.16, without scoring 50 runs. At team level, however, the 35-year-old looks in complete control.
He represented Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) and scored 717 runs in 16 games at an average of 65.18 and a strike rate of 167.91, including 5 half-centuries.
The upcoming series against New Zealand is crucial. He will also represent Mumbai in the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy as he looks to rebuild rhythm and confidence ahead of the World Cup.
