Bluesky has launched a Trending Topics search feature


Social media platform Bluesky has launched Trending Topics in beta, the company said Office has partnered in a post on its platform. The new feature is one of the most requested by users and is paired with a function already in the opposite Threads for about nine monthsand on X (Twitter at the time) since at least 2017.

The Trending section shows the top viral content on the platform, with topics like “Christmas,” “Nosferatu” and “Wikipedia” (thanks for Elon Musk) who is currently at the top. It can be found by clicking search in the desktop version and mobile apps, or you can disable it altogether in the settings, TechCrunch noticed. Any words you mute will also not appear in Trending topics.

Bluesky has just hit a big milestone in the 25 million usersmost of them recently fled X after the US election. Although still small compared to Threads and X, users say the high level of interaction along with the lack of bots and harassment compared to Elon Musk’s platform. Other highly requested features that are still not implemented include bookmarks, editing, verification badges and private posts.
