I think he’s cementing himself as one of the worst presidents in American history, especially this side of Woodrow Wilson. … This is important, and as a former prosecutor, I think it’s important to talk about victims here. Lexis Roberts went camping with her mother and Thomas Sanders. On the way back, Thomas Sanders took her mother away and executed her in cold blood in front of Lexis Roberts, then slit Lexis Roberts’ throat and left her to die in the woods. Joe Biden decided just before Christmas to commute this man’s sentence. This is crazy. This is completely crazy. Therefore, this anger is real and justified. Outgoing Joe Biden has once again cemented his status as one of our worst presidents.

According to DeathPenaltyInfo.org, of the 40 inmates on federal death row, Biden is commuting the sentences of 37 inmates sentenced to death, resetting their sentences to life in prison without parole.
The three inmates not included are: Robert Bowers, who was responsible for the 2018 mass shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue that left 11 people dead; and Dylann Roof, A white supremacist who killed nine black parishioners at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2015; Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Working with his now-deceased brother, he perpetuated the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings that killed three people and injured hundreds.

Biden is the first president to openly oppose the death penalty, and his 2020 campaign website declares that he will “work to pass legislation to abolish the death penalty at the federal level and inspire states to follow the federal government’s example.”
The men, who were sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, were convicted of various acts of murder against one or more persons. Law enforcement officers, children and other inmates were among the 37 men’s victims.
A few death row prisoners were also set to be executed with their co-defendants.
