After ending all the speculations, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has finally announced the updated list of centrally contracted players. It turned out that most of the reports were true and the board abolished the A+ payment system.

According to early reports, two legends of Indian cricket, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, will get lower salaries under the latest central contract. Kohli and Sharma were placed in the B grade of the pay system.

There is no place for Sarfaraz and Shami in BCCI central contract

Only three cricketers in the men’s national cricket team are included in the A-grade. India’s Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill, star pacer Jasprit Bumrah and experienced all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja have been included in the A-category. 2025 World Cup-winning captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma from the women’s national cricket team belong to the A-grade payment system. For the women’s national team, the board has listed the names of 21 cricketers in the central contract.

There are 4 cricketers each in the A and B categories of the women’s cricket team as most of the players are signed under the C category. Renuka Thakur, Shafali Verma, Richa Ghosh and Sneh Rana have been selected in the B-series of the women’s national cricket team.
