The 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is scheduled to start on March 23, 2025. The start date of India’s prestigious cricket tournament has been changed for over a week. However, the final date has not yet been announced.
BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla announced the decision to change the start date. The decision is believed to have been taken at BCCI’s extraordinary general meeting, where the board formally appointed a new secretary and treasurer.

IPL 2025 will start on March 23
The start date of IPL 2025 is earlier than March 14. Speaking to reporters after the BCCI’s SGM, Rajeev Shukla announced that the tournament will begin on March 23, but he did not reveal the change in dates for the playoffs and finals.
