Barcelona’s La Liga game with Willarial has been officially shifted to Miami – for the first time that the European League match will be played abroad.
After the UEFA’s reluctant approval Earlier this week, the League confirmed the switch in the States on December 20.
“This is a game of 380 that makes the season,” said Laliga President Javier Tebas.
“La Liga represents millions of fans around the world, in which many people follow their teams passionately and at least once they see the opportunity to experience them alive.
“This match is to bring our football closer to that global fanbase, without reducing our commitment to those who enjoy it in the stadium in Stadium in Spain a week.”
The match will take place at Miami Dolphins’ home, 65,000-capacity hard rock stadium.
The UEFA has emphasized the obvious opposition to the game played abroad, but effectively acknowledged the stopping matches held abroad due to lack of legal framework.
